Trends in the SGX Nifty indicate a negative opening for the broader index in India with a loss of 85 points today in sync with negative sentiment prevalent in global markets and FIIs continuing to offload Indian equities.
Further, shares of JSPL will be in focus after the company plans to manufacture India's first fire-resistant steel structures at its unit in Raigarh, Chattisgarh.
On Friday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 57989.9 up by 355.06 points or by 0.62 % and then NSE Nifty was at 17100.05 up by 114.45 points or by 0.67 %.
On the global front, the US equity futures edged higher this morning after the UBS Group sealed Credit Suisse takeover to calm markets. Dow Jones Futures, the S&P 500 Futures, and NASDAQ Futures climbed up to 0.6 per cent.
Asia-Pacific markets, however, fell today, with Nikkei 225, the S&P 200, Kospi, Topix, Hang Seng indices lowering up to 0.8 per cent.
