Sensex wipes off losses, up 124 pts; Nifty50 above 16,950

Domestic bourses bounced back in green during the late morning deals amid some buying in witnessed in stocks including Titan Company , Nestle India Ltd. Hindustan Unilever Ltd.Power Grid Corporation of India and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. among others.

At 10:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 57680.6 up by 124.7 points or by 0.22 % and then NSE Nifty was at 16993.45 up by 21.3 points or by 0.13 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 57701.01 and intraday low of 57158.69 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 17010.1 and intraday low of 16850.15

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 2471.25,+3.05%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 18428.05,+2.36%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2456.20,+2.08%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 231.45,+1.36%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 962.50,+1.16%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 104.30,-4.00%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1017.65,-2.55%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 2155.00,-0.95%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 819.95,-0.63%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1411.40,-0.56%), among others.

CDS index was at 37725.96 up by 554.39 points or by 1.49%. Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 2475.15,+3.22%), Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. (Rs. 2889.00,+2.16%), Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (Rs. 216.70,+0.98%), Bajaj Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 1075.80,+0.39%), Whirlpool of India Ltd. (Rs. 1344.55,+0.20%),.

Metal index was at 18989.55 down by -586.17 points or by -2.99%. Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 387.35,-4.59%), Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (Rs. 554.65,-4.44%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 104.20,-4.10%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 80.84,-3.41%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 85.16,-2.85%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3424 , shares advanced were 1134 while 2141 shares declined and 149 were unchanged.
