Sensex, Nifty50 marginally up; Pharma, FMCG stocks gain

Domestic markets were trading marginally higher during the morning trading session amid some buyinh in index hravyweights including Titan Company, Larsen & Toubro , Tata SteelBharti Airtel Ltd. among others.

Sectorally, Nifty IT, and Nifty Pharma gained fractionally higher in trade, whereas the rest remained bogged down.

Among individual stocks, shares of Krsnaa Diagnostics surged over 4 per cent after it operationalised 100 more Pathology Collection Centers.

Besides, shares of Lupin gained over 1 per cent after USFDA completed inspection of Bioresearch Centre in Pune, without any observations.

At 9:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 58260.91 up by 23.06 points or by 0.04 % and then NSE Nifty was at 17123.8 down by -30.5 points or by -0.18 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 58490.98 and intraday low of 58114.33 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 17187.55 and intraday low of 17112.4

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 2376.30,+1.78%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 2165.00,+1.35%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 108.15,+1.22%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 771.90,+0.80%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1579.65,+0.70%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1167.55,-2.31%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1115.00,-1.64%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 5756.00,-1.51%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1650.80,-1.41%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1284.50,-0.88%), among others.

IT index was at 28718.97 down by -230.97 points or by -0.8%. Xelpmoc Design and Tech Ltd. (Rs. 107.50,-7.25%), Coforge Ltd. (Rs. 3930.15,-3.75%), Persistent Systems Ltd. (Rs. 4512.75,-2.38%), Brightcom Group Ltd. (Rs. 19.38,-2.27%), Tata Elxsi Ltd. (Rs. 6020.90,-1.79%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2949 , shares advanced were 1378 while 1459 shares declined and 112 were unchanged.
