Domestic markets extended gains in Monday's intra-day trade, supported by gains across index-heavyweights like HDFC Twins, Asian Paints, Tata Consultancy Services, among others.

Broader markets, too, rose in tandem as Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices surged up to 1 per cent. Volatility index, India VIX, meanwhile, eased up to 2 per cent.

All sectors swimmed in the sea of green, with Nifty IT and Nifty Metal indices gaining the most - up to 1 per cent each.

At 9:55 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 60381.69 up by 572.72 points or by 0.96 % and then NSE Nifty was at 17771.5 up by 177.15 points or by 1.01 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 60415.12 and intraday low of 60005.65 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 17777.95 and intraday low of 17671.95

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1142.65,+2.10%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 225.75,+1.67%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 2683.15,+1.41%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1373.45,+1.35%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1499.55,+1.33%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 7212.45,-0.02%), among others.
