Schaeffler India, a leading motion technology company, has intensified its efforts to combat counterfeit products, protecting customers and the industry from substandard and potentially hazardous fake bearings and components. In collaboration with local authorities, the Schaeffler Brand Protection team has carried out around a hundred legal actions, including successful raids in Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata. These efforts have led to the seizure of counterfeit products falsely branded as FAG, INA, and LuK.
Counterfeit products pose significant risks to operational safety, product performance, and customer trust. To address this issue, Schaeffler India has reinforced its monitoring and enforcement strategies, working closely with law enforcement agencies to identify and dismantle unauthorized supply chains dealing in fake Schaeffler products.
Harsha Kadam, MD & CEO of Schaeffler India, emphasized the company’s commitment to quality and reliability. He stated that counterfeit products not only compromise safety and performance but also erode trust in the industry. Schaeffler is determined to eliminate counterfeit goods through stringent legal action, awareness campaigns, and by providing customers with the necessary tools to identify genuine products.
To ensure authenticity, Schaeffler India advises customers and partners to stay vigilant when purchasing products. Genuine Schaeffler products feature unique labeling with an identification code and a two-dimensional barcode, which can be verified using the Schaeffler OriginCheck App. Additionally, authentic products have precise branding details, including the correct logo, font, and laser-marked product information. Customers are encouraged to purchase only from Schaeffler-authorized distributors to guarantee the authenticity of their products.
