Indian benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty50, extended their gains for the third consecutive session on Thursday, supported by positive investor sentiment and the expiry of both weekly and monthly Nifty derivatives contracts.
The indices witnessed mild volatility during the session but managed to hold in the green, aided by selective buying across sectors such as banking, auto, and FMCG. Strong rollover of positions and stable global cues also contributed to the market’s upward momentum, keeping broader market sentiment optimistic.
At 14:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83620.49 up by 864.98 points or by 1.05 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25509.8 up by 265.05 points or by 1.05 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 83706.16 and intraday low of 82816.26 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25529.5 and intraday low of 25259.9
