Benchmark stock indices Sensex and Nifty ended higher on Wednesday after three days of decline, tracking a rally in global markets.
Buying in blue-chips Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank also added optimism to markets recovery.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 80998.25 up by 260.74 points or by 0.32 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24620.2 up by 77.7 points or by 0.32 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 81087.29 and intraday low of 80705.18 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24644.25 and intraday low of 24530.45
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 245.50,+3.32%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1874.95,+1.82%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 814.55,+1.79%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1562.90,+1.25%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1423.20,+1.23%), among others.
