Benchmark equity indices - the BSE Sensex and the NSE Nifty extended the winning run to seventh straight trading session on Wednesday, backed by solid gains in IT stocks, while banking shares took a breather.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 80116.49 up by 520.9 points or by 0.65 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24328.95 up by 161.7 points or by 0.67 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 80254.55 and intraday low of 79506.9 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24359.3 and intraday low of 24119.95
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1594.30,+7.72%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1439.30,+4.63%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 659.90,+4.59%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1474.85,+3.69%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2917.40,+3.56%), among others.
