Zinc prices declined by 0.23% to Rs 259.25 per kilogram in futures trade on Monday, as speculators cut down their positions amid weak demand in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for July delivery slipped by 60 paise or 0.23% to Rs 259.25 per kg, with a business turnover of 3,680 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in zinc prices to reduced buying interest due to subdued demand from end-use industries in the physical market.
