Star Health partners with Medi Assist to digitise claims with AI

Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Ltd., India’s largest retail health insurer, has announced a strategic partnership with Medi Assist to implement MAtrix, an advanced AI-driven claims platform. This collaboration marks a major milestone in Star Health’s digital transformation journey, aimed at accelerating claim settlements, enhancing customer experience, and driving technology-led service excellence.

The partnership introduces intelligent automation into Star Health’s claims ecosystem, enabling faster, more consistent, and transparent processing. By leveraging AI tools, the initiative also focuses on fraud detection, waste reduction, and improving overall operational efficiency.

Through this integration, Star Health is strengthening its digital capabilities to better serve hospitals, policyholders, and regulators in a fast-evolving healthcare landscape. The AI-powered platform streamlines workflows, reduces manual intervention, and improves turnaround times, positioning the insurer to manage increasing claim volumes with greater agility.

Additionally, customer engagement is set to improve significantly with the integration of AI-powered chatbots, virtual assistants, and omnichannel support across mobile apps and WhatsApp. A unified API framework enables secure, real-time data exchange with insurers, healthcare providers, and the National Health Claims Exchange (NHCX), enhancing system-wide interoperability.
