Silver prices surged Rs 2,132 to Rs 1,05,261 per kilogram on Friday in the futures market, as traders ramped up their positions.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver contracts for July delivery rose by Rs 2,132, or 1.99%, to Rs 1,05,261 per kg, with a trading volume of 13,470 lots.
Analysts attributed the sharp rise in prices to fresh buying interest from participants.
