TANFAC Industries Ltd., a leading Indian chemical manufacturer, has successfully commissioned its 5,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) Solar Grade Dilute Hydrofluoric Acid (DHF) plant. This achievement positions TANFAC as the first chemical company in India to commission a plant dedicated to Solar Grade DHF — a crucial input for the solar energy sector.
The commissioning comes after one of India’s leading solar energy companies approved the trial production output, confirming that TANFAC’s DHF meets the stringent quality benchmarks required for solar applications.
The company is now progressing with the second phase of the project, which will expand total Solar Grade DHF production capacity to 10,000 TPA. The expansion is expected to be completed within the next three months.
Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Afzal Malkani, Director of TANFAC, said, “We are proud to announce the successful commissioning of our 5,000 TPA Solar Grade DHF plant after passing rigorous quality validation from a key solar industry client. This marks a significant chapter in TANFAC’s growth story, as we become the first Indian chemical company to enter this space. The move not only strengthens our position in the solar chemicals segment but is also poised to drive substantial growth for the company.”
He further added, “We are equally excited about the second phase, which will double our capacity and reinforce our long-term commitment to supporting India’s renewable energy mission.”
