Patel Engineering Limited (PEL), in partnership with its joint venture associate, has been awarded a major irrigation project valued at ?958.33 crore by the Maharashtra Krishna Valley Development Corporation (MKVDC), Pune. PEL’s share in this contract amounts to ?191.67 crore, reflecting a 20% stake in the joint venture.
The project involves the construction of a Pipeline Distribution Network for the Nira Deoghar Right Bank Main Canal from KM 87 to KM 135, including distributaries and minor channels between KM 65 and KM 135. PEL was previously declared the L1 (lowest bidder) for this work.
The site is located in Kalaj village, Phaltan Taluka, Satara district, Maharashtra, and is expected to be completed within 36 months.
The comprehensive scope includes excavation and refilling for pipeline trenches, installation of various pipeline components, such as pipes, valves, chambers, and outlets, along with testing of the complete system. The contract also includes a five-year period of operations, repairs, and maintenance following the completion of construction.
