Venus Remedies Limited, a prominent global pharmaceutical company, has successfully renewed its Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certification from Ukraine's State Service on Medicines and Drugs Control (SMDC). The certification pertains to the company’s Unit-II manufacturing facility in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, covering its cephalosporin, non-cephalosporin (carbapenem), and oncology parenteral production lines, including both liquid and lyophilized injections.
"This renewal of the Ukrainian GMP certification reaffirms our steadfast commitment to world-class manufacturing standards. It not only strengthens our position in the Ukrainian market but also supports deeper penetration into PIC/S markets, significantly enhancing our global growth trajectory," said Saransh Chaudhary, President of Global Critical Care at Venus Remedies and CEO of Venus Medicine Research Centre.
Ukraine, a member of the Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S)—a global consortium of 56 countries across Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas—adds strategic weight to the certification, reinforcing its global acceptance. Venus Remedies already has a strong footprint in 32 PIC/S member countries, including South Africa, Thailand, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Australia, with further expansion on the horizon.
The Ukrainian pharmaceutical market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3.9%, reaching USD 822.26 million by 2029, driven largely by increased demand for generic medicines and oncology treatments. With over two decades of operations in Ukraine and 44 product registrations to date, Venus Remedies views this GMP renewal as vital to sustaining growth and expanding its presence across the broader Asia and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region.
"Ukraine remains a key strategic market for us. This renewed GMP certification enhances our credibility with regulators and partners, enabling us to broaden our market reach, diversify our product offerings, and deliver high-quality medicines to a larger patient base," said Aditi K. Chaudhary, President of International Business at Venus Remedies Ltd.
The company’s certified Unit-II facility in Baddi, equipped with advanced infrastructure and state-of-the-art technology, is purpose-built to address complex therapeutic needs and evolving global healthcare demands. Venus Remedies' commitment to quality is reflected in its extensive portfolio of international GMP certifications, including approvals from EU-GMP (INFARMED), PIC/S members (Malaysia and Ukraine), SAHPRA, UNICEF, TGA, INVIMA, and WHO-GMP. These are further complemented by ISO certifications in quality management (ISO 9001), environmental management (ISO 14001), and occupational health and safety (ISO 45001), underscoring its adherence to stringent global standards across all facilities.
