L&T Technology Services Limited (BSE: 540115, NSE: LTTS), a global leader in engineering and technology solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani and the Center for Research and Excellence in National Security (CRENS). This strategic partnership aims to foster research, innovation, and skill development in critical areas of national security, including cybersecurity, perimeter protection, digital forensics, and emerging technologies.
The MoU was signed at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus by Mr. Ramakrishna JVS, Global Head at LTTS, and Prof. Soumyo Mukherji, Director of BITS Pilani Hyderabad, in the presence of Mr. M. Rama Manohara Babu, Head of CRENS, and Prof. Sanket Goel, Dean (Research & Innovation), BITS Pilani. CRENS, based at the Hyderabad campus, will act as the central platform for collaboration with law enforcement, academic researchers, and industry leaders to drive technological advancements and comprehensive skill-building initiatives. The involvement of defense professionals, including former armed forces and DRDO officials, ensures practical and impactful project outcomes.
LTTS brings its extensive expertise in implementing over 25 smart and safe city command centers, more than 100 engineering labs, Cyber Threat Analytics Centers, and Security Operations Centers (SOCs). These are powered by AI-driven solutions and LTTS Fusion™, its Integrated Operations Center Platform for public safety, cybersecurity, and critical infrastructure protection.
The partnership will focus on several key areas:
Research and Development: Joint initiatives in public safety, cybersecurity, perimeter security, and digital forensics, leveraging advanced technologies like AI, quantum computing, and next-gen communications.
Skill Development: Creation of targeted training and certification programs to upskill professionals in cybersecurity and related technologies.
Innovation Ecosystem: Support for startups through mentoring, incubation, and acceleration programs, aimed at nurturing security-focused innovation from ideation to market launch.
Policy Advisory and Capacity Building: Expert input to support national security agencies in policy development and capacity enhancement for protecting critical infrastructure.
The MoU also facilitates shared access to technical resources, research facilities, and joint knowledge-building activities, including conferences, boot camps, and mentorship programs to address evolving security challenges.
