Zinc prices gained Rs 1.40 to reach Rs 253.30 per kilogram in futures trade on Tuesday, supported by increased demand in the physical market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), zinc contracts for June delivery rose by Rs 1.40, or 0.56%, to Rs 253.30 per kg, with a trading volume of 986 lots.
According to market analysts, the uptick in zinc prices was driven by participants expanding their positions in response to improved demand from consuming industries.
