India Showcases Global Telecom Ambitions at Bharat Telecom 2025 Inaugurated by Minister Scindia

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated Bharat Telecom 2025, a flagship event organized by the Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) in partnership with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). The two-day event aims to reinforce India’s position as a trusted global hub for telecom manufacturing, services, and exports.

Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Scindia highlighted India’s telecom transformation, noting that 99% of villages are now connected with 5G, and 470,000 towers have been deployed—covering 82% of the population in just 22 months. “This is not evolution—it is a telecom revolution,” he declared. Emphasizing the government's efforts under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Scindia said, “We are not just connecting villages; we are connecting futures.”

Minister of State for Communications, Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, echoed this sentiment, stating that India has moved from being a consumer to a creator and exporter of world-class telecom solutions. He credited initiatives like Digital India, PLI schemes, and the Telecom Technology Development Fund for fueling this transformation. He also highlighted India’s growing role in global supply chains, including producing 15% of the world’s iPhones, and outlined ambitions in 6G, satellite broadband, and quantum communications.

TEPC Chairman Arnob Roy welcomed delegates, celebrating India's telecom innovations and inviting global stakeholders to explore indigenous advancements at the International Business Expo, part of the event.

Bharat Telecom 2025 features over 80 Indian ICT companies and attracted 130+ international delegates from 35 countries, showcasing cutting-edge technologies including 5G, optical fiber, satellite communications, IoT, and AI-powered networks. The event includes B2B meetings, thematic exhibitions, and knowledge-sharing sessions aimed at driving global collaboration.
