Coal India Ltd (CIL) reported a slight decline in coal offtake for April, with volumes falling by 1.2% year-on-year to 63.4 million tonnes (MT), the company announced in a regulatory filing on Friday.
In comparison, the state-owned miner had recorded an offtake of 64.2 MT during the same month last year.
Coal offtake refers to the quantity of coal dispatched from the pithead, which may also include previously stockpiled coal and is distinct from actual production figures.
