Zinc prices rose by 80 paise to Rs 248.70 per kilogram in futures trade on Monday, supported by improved demand in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), zinc contracts for May delivery gained 80 paise or 0.32% to trade at Rs 248.70 per kg, with a business turnover of 2,008 lots.
According to market participants, the uptick in prices was driven by fresh positions taken by traders amid rising demand from consuming industries.
